If You Are Still Looking For An Image Viewer That Has The Depth, Power And Speed, Look No Further. I Recently Came Across IrfanView And I Was A Little Surprised At What I Found. I Can Not Say That Has Not Been Recommended, But This Is The First Time I Tried It.
Looks Like Someone Read My Rant About Image Viewers And Not Automatically Associated With All Types Of Image Format That Is Humanly Available. IrfanView Offers Change Your File Associations If You Want, But Never Automatically. Not Select All The Image Formats It Supports And Makes You Uncheck Everything You Do Not. It Simply Allows You To Choose What You Want (And What I Liked The Installation, Is That It Says That The Combination Of Image Formats With IrfanView Is Optional).
What You Get
When I First Run IrfanView, Just Get A Black Window Display That Lets You Open And Edit Your Photo. I Prefer A Thumbnail To Access Facilitate Navigation Through My Photos. The Window Display Is Automatically Adjusted To The Selected Thumbnail Picture.
The First Thing That Caught My Attention Is The Loading Time Is Amazing. My Image Loading Time Felt Like It Was Instant. I Love The Fact That It Is Very Adaptable To Many Plug-Ins That You Can Add To It (Video, Music And Picture Included).
One Important Thing That Has Been Set From A Previous Version Has Been The Failure Of Multiple Monitors. Now You Can Drag An Image To The Secondary Display, Press Enter And The Full Screen Appears Perfectly Before You Can Change The Image In Full Screen On The Main Screen.
In General, It Loads Very Fast, Has A Decent System Of Miniature, A Way To Capture Beautiful Screen, The Basic Functions Of Image Enhancement And Of Course, Is Free. The Only Thing Missing Is A Decent System Cache Storage. The Program Must Have A New Role To Cache Thumbnails So You Can Give The Best Lap In Directories With Tons Of Pictures. If A Feature Caching Can Be Included Even Royalty (Similar To ACDSee Should Not Be Too Difficult) This Program Is More Or Less Rank As One Of The Best Graphic Viewer For Windows.
You Have Good Options When It Comes To IrfanView And Interesting Features. For A Viewer/Editor, Which Allows You To Save Image Files As Icon Files That Are Not A Very Common Thing To See The Image. IrfanView Has A Good Download Speed, Supports Almost Any Format To See, Resizing, Conversion, Culture, Or Formats. You Have Other Effects Such As Edge Detection, Blur, Pixelize, Embossing, Oil Painting, Explosion And Many More. You Also Get Your Choice Of Settings For Sharpness And Resolution. However, With All This, I Still Feel Like I'm Missing Some Features.
I Would Like To See A Decent System Cache Storage As ACDSee 7 To Increase Your Speed. I Guess I Can Not Really Complain About Their Inability To Manage, Because It Does Not Say Anywhere In The Product Description That This Is A Manager (Only Viewer/Editor) But This Feature Would Improve The Program.
